Ali Rye

Ali Rye is a 10+ year professional in emergency management. As the Deputy Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM), she manages the full scope of programs available for response, recovery, mitigation, and preparedness for the State of New Mexico, and also serves at the State Coordinating Officer for DR-4652-NM. As the former DHSEM Response and Recovery Bureau Chief, Ali has been continually on the front lines of response to DR-4652-NM, the largest fire in the State’s history.
In her previous role as Emergency Management Coordinator for San Juan County, Ali assisted in the response to New Mexico’s deadliest school shooting, which occurred at Aztec High School. She also served as the Recovery Officer for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management. Ali has extensive experience managing local, State, and Federal grant budgets; directing operations during disasters and emergencies; conducting training, both locally and at the State level; and completing annual updates to the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), Hazard Mitigation Plan, THIRA, and supporting annexes.
Ali received her Bachelor of Science from Arkansas Tech University where she studied Emergency Management. She is also a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers.
